These statement earrings are extremely light weight, and feature tattered bits from both the fronts and backs of Blue Morpho butterfly wings. Strikingly beautiful and dramatic! I have arranged the tattered bits randomly along the length of these. The edges are formed by heat to mold to shape and secured with small wire wrapping. I have also accented the outer edges with metallic silver enamel paint. See the reverse of these creations in image 6.
The wings are secured between clear single-use plastic, cut from single-use food containers, of purchased food products, which have been washed and sterilized (see image 9). Re-Use & reduce my friends. Buy thisit.me wearable nature art!
Hanging from the bottom of each wing is a series of 3 faceted crystal dangles. The center dangle is approx. 1/2T with an added freshwater pearl accent. These earrings measure approx. 7/8”W and 3-3/4”T from top of hook to bottom most dangle. The hooks are shaped and cut from a black colored craft wire and measure approx. 1-1/8” long (meant to evoke butterfly legs/antennae).
NOTE: All butterflies were gathered for me by my friendly neighborhood insectarium, after each insect’s natural life span. CARDBOARD MODELS ARE LIFE SIZED.
