Be rooted to the earth and the circle of life that connects us all. These beautiful, lustrous circular beads are polished layers of sea shells. The hooks are made from 20 gauge antique copper colored craft wire. The hook tails measure approx. 1+1/2 long. I have secured the hooks to shell disks (which are approx. 1" in diameter), with a spiral flourish using 21 gauge bright copper craft wire. (see detail 6 + 7). The bottom, African mud cloth (bogolan) patterned bead is of painted, polished hardwood. The head pin securing it was made using the same wire and spiral design to mirror the one at top.
